Dr. Tawheed is a gastroenterology and hepatology consultant at Al Emadi Hospital, Doha, Qatar, and a lecturer in hepatogastroenterology, with a master’s degree and a medical doctorate in hepatogastroenterology from Egypt. He also completed a fellowship in advanced endoscopic techniques at Firat University in Türkiye.He has over 75 international publications in top gastroenterology journals. He has served on the editorial board for several journals. He has also served as a peer reviewer for several leading journals, providing nearly 100 peer-review reports. In May 2025, he appeared on the cover of the World Journal of Gastroenterology -one of the top journals in the field- for his research contributions to the gastroenterology society.His research interests include hepatocellular carcinoma, viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver diseases, IBD, and recent advancements in endoscopic procedures, such as capsule endoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic submucosal dissection, and peroral endoscopic myotomy.
